Six

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day
Day 06 - Your favorite music video
Day 06 – A song that reminds of you of somewhere

When I first read this one, I drew a blank for a second, but then one popped into my mind.  And then I decided to put a little humor in it instead of making it all serious.

Recognize her?  That's Alanis Morrisette, in the movie Dogma.  She plays God.  That's who I would like to trade places with for a day.  (Plus, I couldn't find a picture of God that I wanted to use...)  I just want to know why some things happen the way they do, and He (She?) is the only one who knows all the answers.

For the music video, I also drew a blank at first, and decided to go through my youtube favorites once again.  This is one that I would consider a favorite:
Somewhere...  VILLAGE SKATE!!  Back to the old days again!  There are so many songs that remind me of the many, many hours spent at the skating rink, but this is one of my favorites:

Dia Cinco

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory
Day 05 - Your favorite quote
Day 05 - A song that reminds you of someone

It's cliche, I know, but I have to pick this memory.  A wedding means so much to a couple, sharing the day celebrating your love with your family and friends.  I can't believe it's been 5 1/2 years already!

"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in." - Hub in Secondhand Lions

Just went through my YouTube favorites again, decided to go back to the old days!  Seems kinda weird, to go from the beginning of this post, my favorite memory of my wedding day, to being reminded of my very first boyfriend, but life is life and it's all my past!  From my junior high days, holding hands with Alan at the skating rink:

Fourth Day

Day 04 - A picture of your night
Day 04 - Your favorite book
Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

I spend too much time at night sitting right here:
It's no wonder I've gained so much weight over the past year!  Blah.  I was surprised, but it was so much easier to lose weight while I was unemployed.  By the time I get home from work, have dinner, do the dishes, do laundry some nights, all I feel like doing is sitting on the couch.  Got any extra motivation laying around somewhere??  I sure could use some!
My favorite book...  Another hard one!  My favorite author is easy, that's Lurlene McDaniel, but I love all of her books.  I haven't read a book of hers I don't like.  Just to pick a favorite, I'll say the Dawn Rochelle Series.  (Does that count?  It's actually 5 books, but they are all about Dawn.)  Sometimes you wonder why bad things seem to happen over and over again to people that don't deserve, and Dawn is one of those people.  But no matter what she goes through, she plows through it all and comes out strong on the other side.

Finally, an easy one.  The first song that comes to mind that makes me sad is Held, by Natalie Grant.  Of course, there's more, but this is one of the first songs that really stood out to me after Jackson died.

Day Three

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show
Day 03 - Your favorite television program  (ha!  another duplicate already!)
Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

Favorite TV show...  Same as the movie, there's a lot that would be at the top of the list, but the one that barely sneaks by to the top would be "Roseanne."  One of those shows that I can watch over and over again.  I like that it's a show that deals with situations that could be considered "real."

There are so many songs that make me happy!  I went through my favorites on YouTube and decided to post this one.  It's fun, upbeat, and I love the movie!

Day Two

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest
Day 02 - Your favorite movie
Day 02 – Your least favorite song

Natalie and I met in June, 1987, when my family moved in across the street from hers.  We've definitely had some time over the years where our friendship wasn't as close as it should have been, but overall, she's been the one that I turn to for everything.

I can't help it.  My favorite movie is still Lost Boys.  I love Kiefer Sutherland as an 80s vampire!  There are a lot of movies that I consider favorites, but this one sneaks past them all into the top spot.

Hmmm... My least favorite song.  This one is tough.  There are a lot of songs that annoy me, but since I always turn them off when they come on the radio, I can't think of one!  Ok, here's one:

Day One

The first day of the 30 day blog challenge!  I'm going to combine the 30 day blog, picture and song challenge, to make it a little more interesting.  To start off the challenge, the blog challenge and the song challenge are the same!  Oh well.  I didn't look ahead in too much detail, so I don't know if that will happen again.
Here's the first challenges:
Day 01 - A picture of yourself with ten facts

Day 01 - Your favorite song
Day 01 – Your favorite song

Here's one of my favorite pictures of myself
Ten facts:
1.  My nickname, Brat, started when I was a kid and has continued through my adult life.
2.  I have been to 42 states.
3.  I was born on Mother's Day.
4.  My mind is full of numbers.  Old phone numbers, dates, stuff like that.  I'm not really sure why.
5.  I was 17 1/2 the first time I got engaged.
6.  The last time I flew in a plane was May, 2001.  I miss it and would love to do it again.
7.  When I was 14, I went to Australia for 2 weeks and New Zealand for 1.
8.  My grades in school could/should have been a lot better.  I didn't like doing homework.
9.  I collect Precious Moments, coins and bills ($2 bills, silver certificates, etc.)
10.  When I met my husband, Scott, he carded me because he didn't believe I was as old as I said I was.

Parts 2 and 3, my favorite song.
I first heard this song on my old Yahoo LaunchCast radio station.  I had a lot of Journey songs rated high on my station, so it played some newer ones that I hadn't heard before.  When I heard this song, I looked up the lyrics and knew it would be perfect for our first dance at our wedding.  Too bad I didn't think about how long the song is, 4 1/2 minutes is a long time to be on the dance floor by yourselves!
